NL performance llc

NL Performance LLC combines cognitive sports psychology, biofeedback, and psychophysiology to promote mental and physical well-being. Cognitive sports psychology focuses on mental techniques for peak performance and resilience, while biofeedback provides real-time body data to help individuals control their physiological responses. Psychophysiology examines the interaction between mind and body, empowering clients to better understand how mental states influence physical health. Together, these methods support stress management, recovery, and long-term wellness.

project goal

The goal of this project was (1) to design a logo that captures the balance between mind and body; (2) create various mockups for business cards, merchandise, & a simple website homepage to get a feel for the brand's overall aesthetic and identity.

process

Research

  • Defined terms such as cognitive sports psychology to understand the client and their services.

  • Researched the Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB) to learn more about cognitive & physical recovery and how they are connected.

  • Browsed imagery often associated with recovery and performance.

  • Analyzed common themes relating to mindfulness, flow, and movement.

Iterations

Typography
”NL Performance LLC” uses a serif font. Simple and professional, the all-caps allows it to be easily legible.

Concept Development

  • Brainstormed ways to visualize mind and body.

  • Sketched flowy, yogic lines to evoke a sense of balance and energy, reflecting yoga’s emphasis on the integration of mind and body.

  • Used face and head iconography to represent mindfulness and self-awareness.

  • Decorative dots around the head and body could symbolize introspection, mental clarity, balance, and the connection between mind and body.

  • Turquoise/gold color palette per client request.

Color Palette
The background color uses a rich, deep turquoise color that adds a modern and sophisticated touch.
The text and logomark are a golden ombré, creating a dynamic, high-end, and performance-driven look.

Versatility was a key priority; the final files were packaged with consideration for various applications, including print, digital, and scalability. Files include the logo with and without a background, and black-&-white versions.

Symbol
Flowing, yoga-inspired lines form the shape of a meditative figure. The face has a calm, relaxed expression, evoking a sense of mindfulness and tranquility. The head is intentionally detached from the body to represent the distinction between mind and body, yet the continuous lines unify the design, symbolizing their connection.
